Our Team
Andre Crisp, Founder & CEO
Growing grapes for wine production has been a passion of Andre’s extended family for decades. As a child he learned to love the art of planting a vineyard and picking the grapes at just the right time. Even then, he felt a sense of connection to the wine industry…
Andre views winemaking as his life call. While a student at Santa Clara University, he pursued a career in the tech universe where he honed his managerial style. A decade passed. Andre had promised himself that by age 30 he would swap Silicon Valley for Napa Valley, and he kept that promise. In 2012, at age 32, the former Silicon Valley tech entrepreneur took the helm at Luna Vineyards and became one of the youngest non-legacy winery principals in the worlds’ premier winemaking community, Napa Valley.
For Andre, it takes much more than business know-how to create world-class wines. The bringing together of sun, soil, water, and the human hand to produce wines of great character also requires leadership of great character. In a short time, Andre took Luna from a boutique winery on Napa Valley’s Silverado Trail with just a few wines to an award-winning contemporary collection of 25 wines across five brands available in all 50 United States and over a dozen countries. Luna experienced triple digit growth in his first few years of running the business and it is his enthusiastic attention to detail that has earned him a reputation for producing wines of rich, intense, and complex flavors.
In addition to their wine interests, Andre and his wife, Dr. Allison Crisp, own interest in online media firms, multiple real estate projects including hotel and other multi-tenant unit properties. Dr. Crisp practices preventative Pediatric Medicine at Ole Health and Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa Valley.
Andre also continues to keep a different kind of promise to himself – to fight extreme poverty and human trafficking in India and beyond. Adopted as an infant in San Francisco with ethic roots from India, Andre never forgets the plight of the impoverished children in India. Instead of accepting wedding gifts for their wedding, he and his wife Allison asked their wedding guests and supporters to consider routing funds to build a home for orphaned children in India. For a portion of their honeymoon, they worked with children in the New Delhi slums. “It is our goal that children everywhere are served with adequate acute care and preventative healthcare” said Dr. Allison Crisp.
Andre Crisp has never forgotten his roots; he and Dr. Crisp continue to embody the family motto “to help the helpless”.
Kevin Zeigler, Partner & CFO
With 30 years of experience in small boutique wineries, large grocery chain driven every day wineries and a time in the specialty food products area, Kevin brings a very broad and in-depth knowledge of both large and small companies…
With a degree in Business Administration from The University of Southern California, Kevin began his career in the central valley of California for Gallo Winery in Operations. He was part of the Operational Auditing team that interacted with distributors and the winery for budgeting, operational efficiencies, and financial reporting.
From there, he spent time at both Beringer Wine Estates and Robert Mondavi Winery, where his knowledge and experience was built with product costing with multiple brands and winery locations within the portfolios. With Robert Mondavi Winery, Kevin was introduced to international wineries as partnerships between Robert Mondavi and their Italian and Chilean partners. During this time, Kevin was immersed in international shipping, product knowledge, financial reporting, and budgeting for all partners as well as international import regulations and licensing.
After time spent in wine, Kevin transitioned to positions at a small, privately held specialty food product that was distributed to food service and high end grocery stores. He started as Controller and moved up to the position of President where he was exposed to and responsible for all aspects of the business which spanned from vendor supply chain to customer/distributor/business partner negotiations.
While specialty food was an engaging and learning process for Kevin, wine was always the passion he lived for, which led him to move to a boutique fine wine company on Silverado Trail where he has served as CFO. There, he was able to streamline financial reporting, vendor partnerships, and internal controls to a point that has allowed him to move into a more oversight role while being able to explore other opportunities within the fine wine category.
